Below is a schedule for United for Lung Health Advocacy Days activities. This information is also available in a printer-friendly PDF

February – June 2012: Monthly Participant Conference Call

Respiratory Health Association will host monthly 30-minute conference calls to develop the policy agenda and familiarize participants with advocacy day logistics, including lodging and travel recommendations. Materials and support will be provided to request Capitol Hill visits.


June 12  – June 13: Participants Arrive in D.C.

Participants should plan on arriving in Washington, DC either during the evening of Tuesday, June 12 or on a morning flight on Wednesday, June 13. Airport transfers and lodging are the responsibly of the participant unless otherwise confirmed.


Wednesday, June 13

Morning – Advocacy Training at the Kaiser Family Foundation

Participants will receive training on how to talk with legislators, guidance on key lung-health issues, materials to help you support our cause and up-to-date information key legislation and talking points. Lunch will be provided.


Afternoon – Visits & Legislator Meetings on Capitol Hill

Participants and staff will meet with elected officials to share their stories and encourage lung-friendly policy decisions. Capitol Hill is an ADA-accessible area, but participants should be prepared for mid-distance walking.


Evening – United for Lung Health Reception at Barnes & Thornburg, LLP

Participants will enjoy an hors d’oeuvres reception to network with other lung health community members and select legislators, recap the day’s activities and discuss follow-up actions.


Thursday, June 14th

Advocacy Day activities will conclude with a policy keynote speaker.  Lunch will be provided.
