2008 Federal Advocacy Days
May 13-14, 2008| Washington, D.C.

Click here for registration, event schedule and hotel information.

Patients and advocates from more than 40 participating organizations will travel to our nation's Capital for the first ever United for Lung Health Federal Advocacy Day 2008. The purpose of United for Lung Health Advocacy Day is to educate our elected officials about lung disease from the patient's perspective and urge them to increase funding of lung health research and education programs. More than 35 million Americans live with lung diseases such as COPD (chronic obstructive lung disease), asthma and lung cancer. By uniting advocates from across the country, we can make a difference in the lives of patients living with lung disease and offer hope for new funding that can lead to improved treatment and more successful outcomes.

2008 Illinois State Lung Health Advocacy Day
April 2, 2008 | Springfield, Illinois

Each year a group of RHAMC volunteers and staff travel to Springfield, IL to participate in a variety of advocacy activities directed at our policy agenda. In the past, attendees have met with their state senators and representatives to discuss important issues such as Smoke Free Illinois, diesel emissions reduction funding, anti-idling policy, and the right for qualified children to carry asthma medication to school.
