Asthma Management

Asthma Management is a one-hour program for anyone who gives care to someone with asthma. Too often a child or adult has an asthma attack and no one around them has been prepared to help handle this life threatening emergency situation. Asthma Management will give participants the knowledge needed to help someone with asthma. They will learn about asthma triggers, early warning signs of asthma, and what warning signs tell you it is an asthma emergency requiring medical help.

We will teach participants:

  • Early warning signs of asthma
  • Common asthma triggers
  • How to handle an emergency
  • Proper medication use

Asthma Management can be taught to:

  • Teachers
  • School Staff
  • Child Care Providers
  • Parent Groups
  • Bus Drivers
  • Faith based Organizations
  • Community Groups

Asthma Management has been approved by ISBE for one CPDU credit for licensed school teachers.
