Lung Cancer
The Lung Cancer Initiative (LCI) for Metropolitan Chicago was launched in April 2005 in response to the enormous impact that lung cancer has on our communities. The LCI is a partnership between medical institutions, not for profit health and advocacy organizations, support organizations, advocates and those affected by lung cancer. An Advisory Board helps guide and support the activities. The LCI seeks to increase:
educational opportunities on lung cancer for patients, family members and medical and public health professionals, - support services for lung cancer patients and their families,
- awareness about recent advances in research, and the clinical research studies available,
- advocacy on lung cancer issues.

State of Illinois Lung Cancer Research Fund
RHAMC spearheaded efforts to create the Lung Cancer Research Fund check-off on the state income tax form. Dollars raised from this check-off will help fund much needed research on lung cancer. Contributions on the state income tax form, offer an easy way to donate to lung disease research. Concerned citizens will just need to write in an amount and add it to their tax payment or deduct it from their refund. Click here for a reminder to keep with your tax forms.
