CRS Function

The function of the Chicago Respiratory Society is to:

  • Plan and implement an annual lecture series featuring speakers and topics addressing latest research and treatment in the field.
  • Serve on the Board of Directors and key programmatic committees of the Respiratory Health Association of Metropolitan Chicago, providing input and guidance in activities.
  • Act as a stimulus for, and providing the peer review service for the distribution of research funding from RHAMC, and providing advocacy support in legislative and regulatory matters pertaining to the quality and accessibility of care for respiratory disease patients.
  • Speak for physicians, nurses and other health care providers concerned with respiratory disease at the state and local levels.  Issues of access to care, reimbursements, and other matters of importance to the respiratory community are of vital concern to the Chicago Respiratory Society.
