Chicago Thoracic Society
For over twenty years, the Chicago Thoracic Society has been a leader and advocate for health care professionals concerned about respiratory care. Founded on October 11, 1977, the CTS achieved full status as a chapter of the American Thoracic Society in 1996 and is the voice of ATS members in Chicago/Cook County area.
The purpose of the Chicago Thoracic Society is:
- To foster the development and dissemination of the scientific foundations of respiratory disease through meritorious research and professional education.
- To promote the highest standards of patent care and serve as an advocate for patients with respiratory disease.
- To serve and assist the Respiratory Health Association of Metropolitan Chicago, as its medical section, in all its affairs.
- To provide leadership and assistance to physicians and medical professionals engaged in the practice of treating patients with respiratory disease.
