About the Respiratory Health Association of Metropolitan Chicago The Respiratory Health Association of Metropolitan Chicago was founded in 1906 to help conquer tuberculosis. Today its mission is the prevention and treatment of all lung diseases with an emphasis on tobacco-related diseases and asthma. With the assistance of decades of experience and scientific research from major medical and educational institutions, the Association has developed community-based health education programs on asthma and tobacco-use.
