Be An Advocate

Respiratory Health Association of Metropolitan Chicago relies on advocates to educate and inform legislators on lung health. Through the support of numerous volunteer advocates, we were able to pass legislation for smoke-free Illinois, regulation of radon, clean air protections. There are a number of ways to get involved with our advocacy efforts:

  • Sign up for e-advocacy. Our e-advocacy alerts inform our advocates of important issues, ways to contact legislators, and policy issues that affect our lung health.
  • Join us for state and federal advocacy days. Each year, we take a trip to Springfield, Ill. and Washington, D.C., to encourage our legislators to support lung health initiatives.
