Each year, Respiratory Health Association hosts trips to the state and federal capitols to advocate for lung health. On these trips, participants have the opportunity to share their state and federal action agenda and stimulate discussion on lung research and education programs with legislators.
The advocacy days also provide legislators with access to an independent lung health community that is vibrant and dedicated to protecting and promoting lung health and supporting research for lung diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), lung cancer, LAM, ARDS, pulmonary fibrosis, tuberculosis and sarcoidosis.
State Lung Health Education Day
Thursday, April 6, 2017
Advocates will travel with Respiratory Health Association to Springfield to inform legislators about tobacco control efforts, clean air initiatives and more. Visit our State Lung Health Education Day page to learn more.
Past participants have said:
"My daughters learned firsthand how advocating for something you believe in can make a difference in the real world, thank you for that. I hope our family's presence in Springfield made a difference for what RHA (and now us too) believe in."
